March 1st! I’m hoping that means we are very close to warmer temperatures. I am so over this winter weather!
This week was great! Busy, but great. Tuesday was my 26th birthday, therefore I took the day off from work. I ran 4 miles on the treadmill, which I hate, but it felt good regardless. I got a hot stone massage afterwards which felt amazing! My mom treated me for my birthday. It helped soothe some of my sore leg muscles.
Thursday was the fun run with the group.. I did 2 miles beforehand by myself.. I also decided to move my intervals up from 3:1 to 4:1. I felt I was ready to do it, & while it was challenging, I feel like it’s going well. It was frigid this night! I couldn’t feel my fingers. Next winter I need to make sure I get proper gloves. I did 4 miles total this night.
Friday my bff from home came in from Harrisburg to celebrate my birthday with me. It was so nice seeing her again! I took this day as a rest day, as usual.
Saturday was the Spring Thaw! I was supposed to be ready to race 10 miles by now, but since I was sidelined with an injury, I was on the schedule for 6. I came out to support all my badass friends & run a loop around North Park with them. My friend Jenn paced me for the first 3 miles, & I was kicking ass. After 3 miles, I couldn’t keep her pace any more & she took off. I wasn’t racing, and she was, so I didn’t mind. One loop around North Park is 5 miles. I’d never ran there before & it was gorgeous. The best part is I broke an hour for my first 5 miles. I felt great! I did an extra mile there afterwards.
Then I partied it up with my closest friends and had a blast! Every year just gets better & better.
Today I was supposed to do 3 miles, but I’m exhausted & it snowed like crazy. Not fun. Tomorrow I’m on the schedule for 4 so I’ll be back at it then!
