The hardest decision I’ve made in a while.

Hey Readers,

I had a doctor’s appt before I left for my cruise to review my MRI results. Great news, it’s not a stress fracture. It’s inflammation of the periosteum, which is more or less shin splints.  So, I have 6 weeks of PT ahead of me.

After careful consideration, I have decided not to participate in the Pittsburgh Half in 2.5 weeks. The longest I’ve ran is 8 miles & that was over a month ago & have hardly ran since. I’m devastated to say the least. I’ve also decided to attempt to transfer my half marathon bib for the PA grand Canyon half in July.  Right now, I know I need to focus on getting better. Therefore, the Chicago Women’s Half over Labor Day weekend will be my first half marathon. That will give me plenty of time to heal & train.

Thanks for reading this blog & I will continue to write about PT & my upcoming runs, so please continue to read if you’re interested!
