MONDAY – STEELERS/GATORADE 5K
This recap will be coming this week! It was an early morning, but I had a blast running this race.
TUESDAY – FASTER CLINIC
If you are a part of the Pro Bike + Run fall training program, you got to participate in an EFX class at FASTER Pittsburgh. Pro Bike + Run had us participate in this class back in March & it was a great work out, so I wanted to do it again! The owner, Jason DeRose, is a fantastic coach & motivator. EFX stands for Enhanced Functional Exercise. It’s a circuit workout & you do each circuit for 1 minute. It’s high energy & it will make you sweat for sure. We all paired up & worked through the stations together. Gill from GP Productions was there taking pictures & they turned out great! I have always wanted professional fitness pictures taken for various reasons & I’m glad he captured a few good ones!
12 minute group! We had the biggest turn out 🙂 + Coach Matt!
WEDNESDAY – REST
Class started this week, so each Wednesday through the middle of December I’ll be in class in the evenings. This is an Intro to Health type class. Finally I’m taking a class I’m interested in!
THURSDAY – YOGA
I decided to move today’s run to Sunday, since I spent the morning walking down 42 flights of stairs so I knew I would be a little sore. I came home & did about a half hour of yoga.
FRIDAY – REST
After work, my friend & I had planned on going for a walk but we ended up getting ice cream instead. We did walk some, but it was probably only a mile-ish. At least the ice cream was good 🙂
SATURDAY – 4.5 MILES
When I woke up around 6:15am, I turned on the news & the weather man told me it was 100% humidity outside. I had 10 miles planned & I just knew that wasn’t going to be happening. I got to the group run, & there weren’t many in my pace group. Most of us were going the short loop since going any longer just seemed impossible in that temperature. We got a little confused on the directions, so we only ended up getting in about 4.5 miles. Some people say, suck it up & run & stop complaining about the humidity but sorry not sorry, I can’t. I know my body, and I know how my body reacts to the heat & humidity. I know that it is near impossible for me to get long miles in when the weather is that way – so I just can’t suck it up & run. Fall is coming – so this weather will break soon enough.
SUNDAY – 5 MILES
I decided to split my long run in half & finish it today. Splitting a long run isn’t really ideal but you have to work with what you’re given. Saturday gave me 100% humidity, Sunday morning gave me beautiful fall-like temperatures & I had a much better run. My calf is STILL very sore from Thursday’s walk down 42 flights of stairs, so I’m trying to take it somewhat easy. Foam rolling & using the stick on my calf hurts so much that I feel like I’m doing more harm than good. I ran on the Panhandle Trail & it must have stormed Saturday night because there were a ton of leaves every where. With the fall-like temperatures & the leaves every where, it felt so great so I came home, showered & put on a comfy sweatshirt & enjoyed watching a Harry Potter marathon. I LOVE fall & I can’t wait for it to actually be here.
How did your week go? Are you the kind to suck it up & run through this weather? or do you find other ways to work-out inside?
