Before we all know it, 2016 will be over. How was your October? Did you get to do all the fall things you wanted to? I’m pretty sure I knocked everything off my list.. calling that a win! November is always kind of a meh month to me. Sure – I love Thanksgiving. But that’s about the only thing in November that I look forward to. So for November, I’m currently…

Planning: My 10 year high school reunion is on Black Friday. Another classmate & I are putting the finishing touches on the evening. I’m hoping it comes together nicely for the people who are going. I’m excited to pick an outfit & have a night out & catch up with people I haven’t seen or spoken to in almost 10 years.

Listening to: Cole Swindell released a smaller album last week. My friend Kristin & I are seeing him this month & of course I need to make sure I can sing along to his songs!

Drinking: I just found out what to tell Starbucks when I don’t want their scalding hot lattes to burn my mouth… “Kids temperature”. Although when they made it “kids temperature” it still burned my tongue. Thx barista. πŸ™‚

Watching: The Blacklist is really heating up. I’m towards the end of the first season & seem to end each episode now with a “WTF” jaw drop. I also started Containment which was shown as a limited series & is now on Netflix. It’s about a wide spread outbreak of a virus that basically starts killing everyone *cue nightmares* – but Chris Wood is in it, & you probably don’t know who that is but he’s amazing & stunning to look at. The show isn’t half bad either. There’s only 1 season so I’ll get through it pretty quickly.

Hi Gorgeous.

Eating: Junk. And it makes me feel really guilty. In the last week, I have had zero time to grocery shop.. therefore I’ve been spending a boatload of money eating out for breakfast, lunch & dinner. Straight up awful. This month WILL be different.

Looking forward to: My class reunion, Thanksgiving with my friend Rachel’s family, & running the Sewickley 5k Turkey Trot.

Loving: Blogging & using Instagram to promote my blog posts. I’ve bee researching ways to do better for my readers & followers & it’s been really fun learning about blogging!

And something new I want to start including with these posts – monthly goals. I think it’s really important to constantly have a goal in your mind – whether you can achieve it in a day, a week, a month, a year, etc. Goals keep you motivated & they allow you to think about what you would like to accomplish in your day to day life. I’m hoping that creating goals for myself will keep me motivated & keep my “eye on the prize” so to speak. πŸ™‚

Goals for November:

  • Exercise 3 days a week, at least one of them being a running day.
  • Complete all of my Math homework within 3-4 days after Monday night’s class so that it stays fresh in my mind.
  • No fast food (unless lunch with a friend is Chipotle or something, then that’s ok)
  • Read 1 book – TV off at 8:30pm on nights that I don’t have class

To start out, that amount of goals seems reasonable. Going forward, I may add more or I may have less depending on the month.

    First of all, I’ve been reading a lot about blogging too. And I feel like I am always learning new things, and making little tweaks & testing things out & it’s so interesting to see how things do or don’t work.

    I would love to read about how other people set goals. I’ve never quite thought about my process, it just kind of happens, usually I jot things down throughout the month I want to work on for the following month – or sometimes they build on each other.

    turning the TV off is seriously the only way i get any reading done. it’s so easy to accidentally let like 2 hours pass, and then it’s bedtime. Kids temperature haha i’m gonna try that. i don’t drink coffee, but i do get hot chocolates there and they are almost always too hot to drink straight away. i’ve been eating absolutely horribly as well, what with halloween candy everywhere and moving/not having a kitchen, we’ve been eating a LOT of fast food and it’s just not good at all. trying to be good in november, so… 1 day down.. a lot more to go. haha!

      I totally agree! I did that for August & I ended up reading an entire book & I was soo proud of myself! I want to do it again. πŸ™‚ join me in those goals then, fast food sucks!! πŸ˜‰

    That sounds like a great month to me! I need to check out Containment… I was a community health major… so I’m kind of nerdy about epidemiology related things. LOL! I love your goals, they are totally reasonable and a good amount. I tend to overload my goal list and not finish much of it… but I do get things started… so I guess it’s ok! πŸ˜› We’ve definitely eaten out way too much in October. Good luck with your goals!       I bet you would love the show – although, it’s not realistic to how everyone handled the outbreak.. you’d have to watch to understand what I mean.. proper precautions weren’t taken to prevent exposure.. it was clearly a TV show! Good luck on your goals!! πŸ™‚
