Happy Monday, friends. It’s rare, but I had a pretty busy weekend full of seeing friends – which I loved, of course!
Friday afternoon I was lucky enough to hear Jeff Galloway speak. If you’re a runner, you surely know who this man is! An Olympian & the mastermind behind the Galloway Method: run/walk/run which has helped so many people lead a healthy life & for me, helped ease me back into running after injury.
Friday evening was Light up Night. I have never gone until now, but it’s a tradition in Pittsburgh that welcomes in the holiday season. Trees get lit up, there are free concerts, & people EVERYWHERE. Hence why I usually stay away. This year though, my friend Katie invited me & I couldn’t say no!
I met Katie & a couple of her friends up at Packs & Dogs on Mt. Washington for dinner. It’s a laid back bar with a bunch of coolers full of so many different kinds of beers. I settled on Troegs Dreamweaver (what’s up hometown!) & enjoyed chix fingers & fries. Yum! After dinner, we took the Mon Incline down the mountain.
We stopped by PPG Place to see the tree & then headed over to Olive or Twist for a drink.
We killed some time at the bar before the fireworks were set to start. Fireworks in Pittsburgh are hands down the best around. The show is always amazing. They started around 9:45pm & they didn’t disappoint!
After the fireworks, we headed back to the incline to head home. It was nice to have a night out!
Saturday afternoon I got up & headed to Pro Bike + Run for their Full/Half marathon training information session. It was nice to see people since I haven’t been to many runs recently. Afterwards, I met Jessie at Panera for lunch so she could catch me up on her life. We spent over 2 hours chatting about blogging, running & wedding stuff.
Saturday evening, I met my friend Rachel for dinner at Cadillac Ranch. We decided earlier in the week that a non running girls night was so needed.
After dinner, which was really good, we went & saw Fantastic Beasts which was also really good! No Harry Potter references except for Hogwarts which I expected, but overall I liked it.
Sunday morning I woke up to this:
The first snowfall of the season. Not a fan. I’m still in denial about the it’s-almost-the-end-of-2016 thing. I spent the day at my friend Nick’s bowling tournament about an hour & a half away from the city. Then we went to Kraynak’s to see their Christmas display!
I’m still not 100% in the holiday spirit, but I’m sure once December 1 hits, I’ll be ready to crank the holiday tunes. Happy 3 days of work week! 🙂
