AUGUST. The signifying end-of-summer month. I feel as though I’ve spent most of this summer indoors because it’s been so dang hot, but also because I’ve had a lot school work to do. Two 5 week classes – it’s been a doozy.

Planning: This week is my last week at my current job! I’ve been in this specific department for almost 2.5 years – while there are very few things I’ll miss, I am very excited for this new role of mine. I’ll be moving out of the cubicle farm (that I’ve never been out of before) & into a doctor’s office!

*I’m in my last week of my current semester & my final project for my Fundamentals of Speed Training class is to create an 8 week speed progression program for an athlete/sport of my choice. I chose a 100m sprinter (since I am most familiar with running) – this is NOT easy. This class has only been 5 weeks long (4 weeks so far), & every bit of information has been crammed into it. I’m going to essentially be spending every night this week trying to organize my resources & spitting out a 7-10 page paper with this 8 week training plan. YIKES. But, I’ll do it.

*The BF & I are also heading to Columbus for a mini getaway. He used to live in Columbus & he always raves about it. I did the Hot Chocolate 15k there & it was beautiful. I’m excited to drink/eat/sight-see my way through it!

Listening to: A lot of folksy music! At my new job, I won’t be able to listen to music all day (which is one of the things I’ll miss). I’ve also been listening to True Crime Garage on the regular.

Drinking: Fruit smoothies! I bought, for the first time ever, a pineapple at the grocery store. While it was kind of a chore to cut it up, nothing beats fresh pineapple. I threw in some strawberries & 1/2 a banana with it – plus some not-from-concentrate OJ with an ice cube… MMM. Absolutely delicious. I picked up fresh mangos this week so I’ll probably use some to put in a smoothie!

Watching: OZARK. My friend Tara told me she & her fiance started watching it & recommended it to us. The BF & I started watching it on Friday night & WE. ARE. HOOKED. He stayed up til 1am watching it while I went to bed, so he’s a little bit farther along than I am but OMG. Also, Jason Bateman is one of my favorite actors. 5 gold stars for him.

Eating: healthy-ish again! Fruits, lean meats, eggs… but, since I eat everything in moderation, I’m also eating burgers, french fries & ice cream =) and enjoying every minute of it.

Looking forward to: my new job & Columbus! Also really looking forward to finishing this current semester.

Loving: life, my friends, my BF, my family. ❤ In my fitness slump, my running friends came out of the wood work to help me. I am truly grateful. And my BF always knows how to put a smile on my face & knows how to get me laughing – and how could you not love that?

Love encouraging people in your life. Makes all the difference.
I think I would panic if I couldnt listen to music all day long. I feel like the world is bland without it. (Sorry, I’m not much help, am I?) haha

If it helps, I don’t listen to music at work at all, our cubes are just too close & everyone else can hear it. So I just don’t. 🙂 I lived. Haha

I’ll be interested to hear all about Columbus, I go for work occasionally, but always stay in my bubble. I’d love to get out & explore, plus it’s the perfect distance for a weekend away.

Good luck with the new job and congrats!!! I see your in your profile that you are from Pittsburgh. I am from Greensburg!!! I live in the south now, but PA always holds a special place in my heart.

I used to be so afraid of pineapples. Sounds silly, but they were intimidating. Once you get a routine for cutting them, it becomes so easy you will laugh at why it took you so long to do it.

Thank you!! Yes – I love Pittsburgh ❤ And I was always afraid of pineapples too! Until my boyfriend got a fresh one & I was like.. well, if he can cut one, so can I! So to YouTube I went to learn!

I’m a big fan of Columbus! Enjoy!
Everyone’s raved about Ozark! It’s not my kind of show, but it sounds like it’s the newest hit out there!
Good luck with school and the new job!
